Meads Mill 6th Grader Wins Lion's International Peace Poster Contest with "Dare to Dream"

Meads Mill 6th grader, Aarush Kulkarni, wins Lion's International Peace Poster Competition with his artwork themed "Dare to Dream." Aarush secured victories at local, district, and state levels, earning a spot in the international contest.

Hi, my name is Aarush Kulkarni and I'm in sixth grade at Meads Mill. So recently I just found out that I won the Lions Club Peace Poster and I did it because so today in this year we had like this theme about 'Dare to Dream' and about peace, also. So what I did was, I drew since the theme is Dare to Dream, I drew an outline of a person and then inside their head like they're kind of dreaming about something, about peace. And then over here I drew like three activists, that's Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi. And then I drew the globe with a pigeon and a dove and over here I drew like all the flags with like two different religions to show they're like shaking hands, so they also represent peace. And here I just drew buildings to kind of fill up the space and I drew like the peace symbol here. I drew a rainbow to show like happiness colors and I drew also a few doves over here and I also painted most of it and some of it I drew, I mean colored with marker. What does it mean to you that you won? It's a very big achievement to me, it's one of my biggest achievements, I think it's the biggest one yet. Normally I win like kind of small ones, like that are not really like, they're like intramural, kind of like personal. But this is public to me, so it's like it's a very big achievement.
